Compress images online
Make a JPEG or WebP smaller without sending it anywhere. PNG stays lossless, so a photo saved as PNG is usually smaller as WebP or JPG.
Your files stay on your device. All processing happens locally in your browser. We never upload, store, or view your images.
This tool runs in your browser. Turn on JavaScript to choose images.
How to use it
- 1Choose one or more images, or drop them on the page.
- 2Set the quality. 80 is a solid default for photos.
- 3Download a single file, or a ZIP if you processed several.
Good to know
- JPEG and WebP are re-encoded in this browser. The quality slider applies to those formats.
- PNG is not quantized. A screenshot or logo may hardly change size. A photo in PNG will usually shrink more if you convert it to WebP or JPG.
- If the new file is not smaller, Glazlo keeps the original bytes, including its metadata.
- Re-encoded files drop camera location and other EXIF data. Orientation is baked into the pixels.
- Up to 20 files, 25 MB each, and 16 megapixels. Larger images are refused before they can freeze the tab.
Questions
Are my images uploaded?
No. Glazlo reads the file on your device, creates the new file in the browser, and lets you download it. The image is not sent to Glazlo.
Why did the file get larger?
Some JPEGs are already compressed. Encoding them again cannot beat the original, so Glazlo offers the original download instead.
Can this compress a PNG like TinyPNG?
Not in this version. Browser PNG export is lossless, so it does not reduce colors. Convert a photographic PNG to WebP or JPG if you need a much smaller file.
Will the colors and location stay?
Orientation is preserved. Location, camera details, and other metadata are removed when a file is re-encoded. An unchanged original keeps its metadata.
