Remove the location from a photo
October 11, 2026
A shared photo can include the place it was taken, stored beside the pixels. You can remove that before you send the file.
Where the place is stored
Cameras and phones write location, camera model, and other details next to the picture. Those details are not part of the visible image. Someone who receives the file can still read them.
What this removes
Remove image metadata takes out location and camera details on your device. The picture is not uploaded.
If the photo is already upright, the pixels are not compressed again, so a JPEG does not pick up another round of quality loss. If the camera marked the photo as rotated, Glazlo turns the pixels upright and saves a new file so it does not appear sideways.
What this does not hide
Faces, signs, and anything visible in the picture stay visible. This does not blur them.
Compress leaves a file alone when a new copy would not be smaller, and that copy can still contain a location. Use this page when the goal is to remove the location, not to shrink the file.
