Convert PNG to JPG
Save a PNG as a JPG for email, forms, and tools that only accept JPG. Pick the color that should replace transparency.
Your files stay on your device. All processing happens locally in your browser. We never upload, store, or view your images.
This tool runs in your browser. Turn on JavaScript to choose images.
How to use it
- 1Add a PNG.
- 2Choose a background. White is the usual choice for documents.
- 3Download the JPG.
Good to know
- Transparent pixels are painted with the background color before the JPG is saved.
- JPG is lossy. A quality around 80 keeps photos clear and much smaller than a PNG.
- CMYK source files can shift color because the browser decodes them first.
Questions
Why do I need a background color?
JPG cannot store transparency. Without a color, empty pixels would turn black.
Can I keep the PNG if the JPG looks wrong?
Yes. The original file is never replaced on your device. Download only what you want to keep.
Does this work on a phone?
Yes. Very large images are refused when they exceed 16 megapixels, so the tab is less likely to crash.
Is the image uploaded?
No. Processing stays in this browser.
